Dundee Ippon

Alright, it's not in South London, but Dundee Ippon extends a warm welcome to any South Londoner heading up to Scotland on account of club instructor Dave Hammond is a South Londoner. Trained way back when under Charlie Clarke at Goldsmiths and Pete Baldwin at Roger Manwood, with some imput from Richard, of course.
We train on a Tuesday night and it would be nice to hear another South London accent in the dojo. Check us out on www.dundeejudo.co.uk

Dave,
welcome to the forum. I remember you from the monday might sessions at Charlie Clark's club. I hope you are well and that the Judo is going to plan.

Best Regards.

Yeah, that used to be very tough on me - often I was the only kyu grade on the mat!
Whose still about from them days?

I'll bet it was tough. One night I counted 11 Dan grades. Only 2 were 1st Dans. It should be a stark warning to clubs not to become top heavy. It was a great session but it was very difficult to maintain any Kyu Grades.
I was there on Monday night but in my area capacity. It is all primaries now.

I still see people from time to time. Regulars are Pete Baldwin and Richard Raymond (of course). Valerie Hodgson comes in now and again and I see Barry Greenop about twice a year. Charlie Clark was coming to Aylwin Judo Club until about a year ago but he is now too frail.

In the past 5 years I have seen Terry Chivers and Frank Marsh at kata courses but thats about it.
