Self-Defense or Self-Defence but is Judo a Marital Art?

Whilst trying to formulate an answer as to the correct spelling for "Self Defense/Defence" you should see how many times Judo is referred to as a "Marital Art" instead of a "Martial Art". If more people knew this then even more women might come onto the mat...
